Job Title: Data Center Operations Technician Location: Englewood, CO 80111 Duration: 6+ months assignment with possible extension Shift Schedule: 12:00 PM- 8:00 PM (Mon-Fri) Pay Rate: $28.26 - 30.43/hr. on W2 without benefits
Job Summary: We are seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support our infrastructure and network services team. The technician will be responsible for the onsite monitoring, maintenance, and support of data center operations, ensuring optimal performance and uptime. The role includes customer support, troubleshooting, installation, and environmental monitoring.
Role & Responsibilities: Provide customer support by resolving or escalating issues in a timely manner. Monitor and review physical device alerts across data centers. Perform incident triage and escalation as needed. Provide onsite vendor access and escort vendors within the facility. Execute remote hands tasks for both internal and external customers. Conduct data entry tasks for infrastructure changes and installations. Assist with or complete physical hardware installations. Maintain and update all relevant documentation. Ensure organized cabling and cabinet management during installations. Monitor environmental conditions in the data center. Conduct facilities rounds and escalate pertinent information. Manage shipping/receiving operations for data center equipment. Escalate facility alarms to the Facilities Operations Engineer. Complete end-of-shift reporting and document troubleshooting steps. Ensure compliance with Data Center Policies and Procedures. Maintain cabling and inventory levels as needed. Stay up to date with training and operational updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in an IT support environment. Experience working in a 24/7 production environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities. Solid knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. Fundamental understanding of networking concepts (Routing, Subnets, Communication protocols). Technical knowledge of building management systems, including UPS, generators, HVAC, PDUs, AC/DC power. Familiarity with cable color coding (568A and 568B pinouts). Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to climb ladders, work in cold environments, lift heavy objects, and maneuver pallet jacks. Must possess a valid driver's license and insurance.
Preferred Skills: Experience with environmental monitoring and data center operations. Knowledge of facilities operations and workflow management. Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes within a data center.
