SVP, Business Development Officer

Job Description:

Summary

The Business Development Officer is responsible for prospecting and adding new clients as well as growing business within existing clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and successfully execute marketing and business development strategies that drive the generation of new business revenue that meets company and regional growth and financial objectives.

  • Drive fee income through the appropriate sale of treasury management services and supporting products.

  • Deliver a strong strategic plan with the ability to create innovative service while supporting the vision for the business with an understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

  • Effectively execute growth strategies and cross-selling opportunities to maximize impact and value of client relationships.

  • Define and translate the strategic vision in to an actionable plan.

  • Develop and implement a proactive outreach and marketing strategy that includes partner cultivation and networking.

  • Responsible for assessing and implementing methods to deepen the relationship and secure revenue opportunities between the Company and the client.

  • Leverage existing relationships and contacts within the industry; build trusted partnerships at all levels of the organization by defining, addressing, and executing short and long-term strategic initiatives.

  • Oversee development and execution of all proposals.

  • Develop close relationships with new and existing clients; make frequent contact to gauge satisfaction, identify any clients in jeopardy due to service failures

  • Maintain and improve competitive position by gathering market intelligence and monitoring the competition so as to be aware of trends in technology, services, and approaches to the marketplace. Apply this information in sales planning, including an analysis of competitive services and business development techniques, consumer research, and sales budgets.

  • Help to strengthen the organizations brand and overall market position so that the Company is positively perceived in the marketplace.

  • Help plan, direct, and coordinate the business development efforts toward the accomplishment of corporate objectives.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven sales and negotiating experience.

  • Minimum of seven or more years of Commercial Lending experience preferred.

  • Must have excellent communication, presentation and tactful interpersonal skills.

  • Superb people skills to work within a team environment and successfully develop and retain client relationships.

  • Proven ability to cross-sell other banking products, including loans, deposits and treasury management.

  • Self-motivated to work independently and take ownership.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills are required.

  • This position requires the use of sound business discretion, good judgment, and excellent problem solving skills.

  • Basic knowledge of personal computer hardware and software skills including MS Word and Excel.

  • Strong working knowledge of regulations, compliance standards, market trends and products relating to the banking industry.

  • Superior analytical and decision-making skills based on a thoughtful assessment of risk.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university with a minimum of seven years related experience and/or training in commercial banking

COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $124,586 - $186,879 plus i ncentive compensation . Amount is based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.
