Hiring a Special Needs Long-term Substitute Teacher for

Elmwood Park Community Unit School District

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in education

  • LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist 1) endorsement : is for teaching students with a wide range of disabilities, ages 5–21, in several instructional delivery models that include teaching in inclusionary settings through consultation and collaborative teaching.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies

  • For long-term assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans and use the existing plan, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments

  • Instructing students on classroom topics/courses

  • Assigning reasonable tasks and homework
