Position Overview
The General Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will assist with equipment moves, floor preparation, and utility hookups to support production operations. Responsibilities will include disassembling and relocating racks and machinery, preparing floors for new equipment installations, connecting utilities (water, air, electrical), and setting up assembly areas to ensure a seamless production flow. The role also involves preventive maintenance and reacting quickly to unplanned downtime, ensuring minimal disruption to production..
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance: Maintain the building's infrastructure, including lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and general upkeep of the facility.
Disassembling Racks: Disassemble and move racks and shelving units as necessary for equipment relocations or facility reorganization.
Machine Moves: Assist with the relocation of machinery and equipment within the production facility, ensuring safe and efficient moves.
Floor Preparation: Prepare and maintain floors for new equipment setups, ensuring clean and level surfaces for proper machine installation.
Utility Hookups: Assist in the installation and connection of utilities (water, air, electrical, etc.) to machines and equipment.
Assembly Area Setups: Set up and configure assembly areas for new production lines, ensuring all necessary equipment and tools are in place and operational.
Documentation: Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and service reports to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
Collaboration with Production: Work closely with production teams to identify and address equipment or facility issues that impact production timelines.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Basic understanding of maintenance tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to assist with equipment moves, floor preparation, and utility hookups.
Basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing knowledge is a plus.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
Basic computer skills for documenting work orders and maintenance logs.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $18.00-$24.00
