Aerotek Electronic Assembler in Elkridge, Maryland
Job Title: Electronic Assembler
We are currently seeking an experienced Electronic Assembler to work in a custom cable shop, completing jobs from start to finish. The role involves making cables for various end clients, including those used in jet fighters and submarines. The ideal candidate will have over 2 years of experience in cable assembly, wire harnesses, testing, and cutting cables. Familiarity with ICP 620 cabling and military standards is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
Complete cable assembly jobs from start to finish.
Strip, cut, crimp, label, and solder wires to their connectors.
Read and follow schematics, drawings, and specifications.
Use hand and automated crimping tools.
Assist with various projects as assigned by the line lead.
Work on full projects or specific components as needed.
Essential Skills
2+ years of experience in cable assembly and wire harnesses.
Proficiency in testing and cutting cables.
Experience in a job shop or custom shop environment.
Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, and specifications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with ICP 620 cabling and military standards.
Experience with wire prep and the use of hand and automated crimping tools.

Work Environment
Candidates will work in a small shop with 7 colleagues, where everyone helps with various tasks. Some parts of the shop are air-conditioned, although it is not a warehouse. The company is owned by a couple, with the wife managing operations and the husband handling all cable testing.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
