Associate Scientist, Chocolate Product Science - R99935

Job Description: The Chocolate Product Associate Scientist focuses on projects with global scope that enable growth, efficiency, and quality of chocolates. They drive Chocolate Product projects and develop foundational, formula-tied learnings, and roll out best practices for chocolates and chocolate raw materials. This position also serves as technical support on chocolate to regionally focused product developers, providing tactical and strategic technical chocolate formula or chocolate work guidance.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor's in food science or related program. Alternatively an Associate's degree in a science plus equivalent in food industry. * Design and execution of fundamental and applied research using scientific methods. * Capable to lead and collaborate in cross-functional teams while building and maintaining collaborative relationships between internal (cross functional and across regions) and external (suppliers and trade groups) partners in different geographic locations. * Ability to document, organize, and summarize project results clearly through verbal and written communication to key stakeholders while providing guidance and recommendations to the business. * Establishes goals, milestones, and timelines for cross functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications * Master's or PhD degree in Food Science, Food or Chem. Engr., Biochemical or equivalent. * Experience in Food product design. * Familiarity with chocolate formulation.

What will be your key responsibilities? * Design, develop, and execute new chocolate formula enablers, including recipes, protocols, and specifications that provide competitive advantage to Mars Snacking using a data-driven approach that focuses on the scientific underpinnings of chocolate formulas. * Ensure quality, integrity, and assurance of supply throughout the business by effectively integrating scientific discipline and knowledge to business needs and high cross-department collaboration. * Provide leadership and direction to drive on-time and in-budget project delivery, adhering to essential project management competencies. * Educate and share learnings with stakeholders.
