Job Overview:

EKG Technicians are responsible for doing electrocardiograms on both inpatients and outpatients scheduled within the department.

They consider the physical and physiological needs of every patient, and develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations with other department personnel.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

  • Completion of EKG Technician Certification Course/Program

Preferred:

  • At least six months of EKG work experience

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • EKG Certification

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift working varies, 7:00 5:00pm, depending on the coverage needed

  • Varied weekdays, weekends, and holidays

  • PD

Essential Functions:

  • Performs EKGs on inpatients and outpatients

  • Apply holter monitors

  • Match orders between the EMR and Muse EKG for all EKGs done within the hospital

  • Editing and forwarding final test outcomes to Muse, the EKG management system for attending physician to analyze and interpret data

  • Keep equipment in good working order and check the quality of recorded data

  • Cover the front desk when needed and train to cover EEG
