JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- - Design the power and electrical components of a brand-new hall effect thruster including the Power Processing Unit, anode, and cathode. - Analyze hall effect thruster performance and efficiency. - Plan and conduct component and system level electrical testing. - Deliver components and thruster in a rapid, risk-tolerant, and iterative manner. - Work on a full Hall Effect Thruster team and communication design decisions and issues effectively. - Responsibility includes full chain of electrical engineering tasks including PCB schematic and board layout, component selection, analysis, design for manufacturing, design for test, etc. - Principal engineers also serve as technical and professional mentors in their field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

- - Bachelor of Science (BS), or Masters (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Physics - A minimum of 9 years of experience with a bachelor's degree, 7 years of experience with a masters degree, or 5 years of experience with a Ph.D. in spacecraft electrical propulsion system design, analysis, manufacturing, test, and troubleshooting. - Experience building electronics for a hall effect thruster or other related technology such as gridded ion thrusters. - Familiarity with all aspects of the satellite system design life cycle, including spacecraft level environmental testing, launch, and operations. - Familiarity with the system level trades in a satellite propulsion system. - Desire to design products which change the satellite cost paradigm. - Ability to work within and lead within a multidisciplinary team environment is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

- - Hands on experience bringing multiple propulsion systems from concept to flight or concept to test. - Experience with multiple thrusters that guides your vision for the next generation. - Full space mission lifecycle experience.

$140,000 - $180,000 a year CesiumAstro considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, education/training, and key skills.
