THE POSITION

We are seeking a level Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) professional to join the Honeywell Building Automation team. This individual will be a member of the HSE Leadership Team, responsible for driving HSE continuous improvement, compliance, and engagement within our manufacturing sites. The role reports to the Director Integrated Supply Chain Leader.

The HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) Manager is responsible for overseeing and implementing the organization's health, safety, and environmental programs within the warehouse and its surrounding areas. This role involves fostering a strong safety culture, driven by team leads and supervisors, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety Program Management:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored to the warehouse environment.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Coordinate with team leads and supervisors to enforce safety standards and practices consistently.

Leadership and Culture:

  • Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging and empowering team leads and supervisors in safety initiatives.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team leads and supervisors to promote accountability and ownership of safety practices.

  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for all staff to reinforce safety awareness and best practices.

Incident Management:

  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and safety performance metrics.

  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent recurrence of incidents.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations and standards.

  • Keep abreast of changes in HSE legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.

  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.

Training and Development:

  • Design and deliver HSE training programs for all employees, including new hire orientation, specific job-related training, and refresher courses.

  • Mentor and develop team leads and supervisors to enhance their HSE competencies.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.

  • Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.

  • Coordinate with external emergency response agencies as needed.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall HSE performance.

  • Promote the use of safety technologies and innovations to improve workplace safety.

Up to 15% travel can be expected with this position.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of progressive health, safety, and environmental experience, with increased responsibility.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing safety programs and initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal HSE regulations.

  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team leads, supervisors, and employees at all levels.

PREFERRED

  • Prefer HSE experience within a warehouse or industrial setting.

  • Certification in HSE (e.g., CSP, CIH) is preferred.

  • Knowledge and management experience with global aspects of HSE and Sustainability

  • Firm understanding of OSHA’s standard as well as their Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)

  • Ability to communicate and influence decision making to all levels of the organization

  • Strong collaboration, program management and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work autonomously to achieve organizational objectives

  • Mature judgment and decision-making ability with strategic and tactical HSE experience
