Description Role Summary: The Sr. Manager is responsible for auditing the production plant operations (equipment uptime) to identify opportunities in equipment and processes and make recommendations to improve productivity and lower costs at both operations facilities. This position will implement use of appropriate manufacturing equipment in the production plant in order to produce products in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. This position has overall responsibility for the production plant, corporate office building, grounds and maintenance and mechanic staff. E.A. Maintenance Department Leadership * Set high level direction and goals for Maintenance groups * Leverage Maintenance leadership group to execute day to day * Support creation of and help manage maintenance operating budget to plan. * Support and/or lead the hiring of key department resources 2. Capital Project Execution * Supporting new equipment, processes, procedures and systems. * Designs and maintains automated manufacturing equipment including analyzing the products to be manufactured and researching/designing automated equipment to produce these products in an efficient and cost-effective manner. * Assist with creation of Capital Budget that addresses strategic direction from a total company standpoint * Manage capital expenditures to budget as project manager. * Always reviewing processes from a continuous improvement standpoint and able to prioritize projects from a risk/reward standpoint and act accordingly. * * * 3. Liaising with suppliers, customers and research and development staff. * Interacts with suppliers and employees at all levels, working side by side with people to get ideas * Interviews workers at all levels to gain an understanding of the operating processes, inspects each area of the facility and presents recommendations for improvements while promoting proper ergonomics and safety of all employees. * Build strong partnerships with key technical vendors 4. Lean Leadership in Operations * Leverage technical knowledge and lean mindset to find and implement improvements (process, capital or other) throughout Operations * Facilitate lean events/activities for Operations Required Qualifications: A. Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, technical degree or equivalent work experience B. Must have at least 5-10 years previous engineering or mechanical experience C. High mechanical aptitude D. Must have demonstrated strong analytical skills E. Must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills F. Must be creative, detail-oriented and self-motivated G. Must have excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint H. Strong leadership and supervisory skills to lead a team of maintenance employees Preferred Qualification (if Applicable): 1. Problem Solving/Analysis. 2. Technical Capacity. 3. Project Management. 4. Communication Proficiency. 5. Organizational Skills. 6. Strongly prefer experience in manufacturing or plant operations 7. Exposure to lean manufacturing and automation design experience Physical Demands and Work Environment: A. Some office/desk work using a computer and telephone B. Significant time spent on the production floor with temperatures of 30-45 degrees and other manufacturing areas C. Occasional travel D. Fast pace environment E. Exposure to various levels of employees and diverse cultures F.
