Candidates will be responsible for assigning responsibilities, recruiting new volunteers, and retaining the best people. It takes a leader with excellent communication skills to succeed in this position. Knowledge in how to distinguish talent and the ability to do everything possible to motivate and inspire is key. You must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and experience. - Source and recruit volunteers through various techniques (databases, e-mail, social media, in-person meetings, etc.) for both the daily operations of TIS and for special events
- Collect information from volunteers on their availabilities and skills
- Greet and welcome volunteers to their shifts. Arrange for appropriate training as needed
- Produce schedules for everyday activities, ensuring that the 3 shifts each weekday are covered by volunteers
- Assign responsibilities to appropriate volunteers for special events
- Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions
- Communicate frequently with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed
- Disseminate information for upcoming actions and events
- Keep detailed records of volunteers information and assignments
- ?nsure the purpose of the organization and its actions is clearly communicated
- Assist with inventory of in-kind donations
