Role Responsibilities:

• Work with Carrier business unit engineering teams and central engineering stakeholders to define and implement a future state Syracuse lab organization structure.

• Create a standardized approach to supervision, process, EHS, recruiting, and Capex that can be applied throughout lab operations organization.

• Lead lab organization through transformation from current state to future state.

• Develop strategy and priorities for future capital lab investments to support global engineering goals.

• Allocate and manage lab resources to align with Carrier prioritized needs from business units and Central Research and Development Engineering.

• Develop and manage a site level laboratory resource budget inclusive of staffing, operational expenses, and capex.

• Align lab investments and capabilities with future regulatory and technology trends and Carrier global footprint objectives.

• Manage and lead a large team of managers, supervisors, and technicians to deliver laboratory operational excellence in alignment with Carrier objectives.

• Develop and implement KPI’s to monitor lab operations performance and drive continuous improvement.

• Effectively utilize verbal and written communication to inform, influence, and lead diverse audiences, including but not limited to cross functional team members, senior leaders, and executives.

• Foster an inclusive performance culture which promotes learning and development, while providing opportunities for tangible application, coaching, and accountability.

Role Purpose:

• The Associate Director Syracuse Lab Operations Leader will lead the development, implementation, and general management of an optimized lab operations team in Syracuse, NY. This role will be part of the Mechanical Center of Excellence (CoE), report to the VP of the Global Mechanical CoE, and have overall responsibility to lead the transformation of lab operations to a centralized and optimized organization structure.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering

• 5+ years of leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or MBA

• New product and technology development experience

• Ability to manage large, diverse teams in an operational environment.

• Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes.

• Strong organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Business strategy experience and skill set to ensure objectives are aligned with broader business and other functional organization goals.

• Experience and expertise with coaching and developing employees to improve organizational skill and capacity while achieving goals and objectives.

Pay Range:

$133,319 - $232,919 Annually
