The Loyalty & Benefits Platform team is part of the Enterprise Platforms Center of Excellence – combining product and engineering skillsets into a single organization to improve speed to market and increase the value of the products and services for American Express’ customers.

Our team enables many of the key product features used by our Cardmembers every day, such as earning & redeeming their points, accessing lounges & receiving the benefits from elite hotel and airline guest status.

We power new product features as well as existing ones, building highly configurable core capabilities as it relates to account attributes, customer enrollment, offer & program set-up, qualification, tracking, redemption, fulfillment, channel & partner integrations of various Loyalty & Benefits products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Digital Product Mgmt will support the development and roll out of modern Global Loyalty Platform along with maintaining and transforming the Legacy platforms. The role will lead Product team responsible for capabilities and features that support International Markets for growth, transformation, and modernization. The primary objective is to consolidate and modernize International Loyalty and Benefit capabilities with effective prioritization. Additionally, this Director is responsible to support ongoing international enablement and strategic initiatives.

The incumbent and his/her team are responsible for:

  • Defines product outcomes with clearly defined metrics and targets for the product segment, in line with the high-level product portfolio vision and strategy and company, organizational outcomes

  • Understands the importance and value of international capabilities and links it to the core value proposition for the markets, customers, and business

  • Understands and applies new trends and market standard methodologies into product roadmap and requirements.

  • Establish and manage the relationships with International MR CoE, and stakeholders from various channels and marketing experience organizations

  • Drive and document the discovery of international capabilities

  • Partner closely with peer teams to leverage existing transformation and map out the synergies

  • Simplify and prioritize capabilities and markets to drive growth and value for International Transformation

  • Institute the roadmap for International Transformation and drive execution

  • Leads product managers and associate product managers to translate product roadmap into a product backlog of well-defined epics and features with appropriate acceptance criteria.

  • Foster and facilitate teamwork and alignment between cross-functional teams including engineering and process

  • Proactively anticipates any risks and issues that may arise during the delivery to ensure that appropriate mitigation actions are undertaken

Minimum Qualifications

A successful candidate will have:

  • Strong understanding Loyalty and Benefits Ecosystem

  • A good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen with a proven track record of driving innovation and business metrics with a customer-first mindset.

  • Strong analytical and product development or product management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize, track, and deliver results and lead teams.

  • Strategic thinker with strong customer focus.

  • Assertive and collaborative, with the ability to drive innovation and change management

  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines, thrive in a complex fast paced, team-oriented environment with rapidly evolving business demands.

  • Strong team player with a can-do attitude who can work with virtual and global teams and lead team members in different time zones

  • Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners, stakeholders, and executives to drive collaboration and alignment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field such as computer science, mathematics, engineering, master’s degree in business is highly preferred

  • Time-zone flexibility required
