Know Your Rights: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2022-10/EEOCKnowYourRightsscreenreader10_20.pdf Responsibilities The administrator of the behavioral health unit is responsible for the daily operations of the Geriatric Behavioral Health Unit team and programs by providing leadership and oversight to ensure operational compliance with business, clinical, risk management, quality, and contract performance requirements. Responsible for leading employees and delivering effective and efficient services to the patient population served. The Geriatric Behavioral Health Administrator develops, implements, administers, and maintains the standards of treatment and services for the acute care geriatric patient population. Responsible for ensuring interdisciplinary functions inclusive of recreational therapy, physician, nurse practitioner services, discharge planning, nursing, and social work functions. The administrator reports to the hospital Chief Nursing Officer. Responsibilities include: * 24-hour responsibility for the overall operations and management of the department/unit * Monitoring productivity of team and proactively identifying issues to ensure quality and quantity of programs to meet expected outcomes. * Monitors and ensures that all compliance policies and practices are followed. * Assesses the needs pertaining to program area and responds to meet those needs with existing resources and processes and/or develops alternative options. * Organizes training opportunities and sharing of staff expertise for assigned program areas. * Has visible presence on the unit. * Ensures appropriate implementation of HR and operational related policies and procedures for unit. * Provides clinical supervision, leadership and coaching in coordination with corporate resource support, clinical charge nurse and nurse practitioner. * Ensures appropriate staffing. * Works with senior leadership to develop programs to strengthen behavioral health services to community.
