Position Summary

Michigan State University Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences (LCS) invites applications for a Research Associate postdoctoral position available in the One Health Lab with Dr. Catalina Picasso.

This position focuses on enhancing surveillance, early detection, and control strategies for infectious diseases affecting cattle populations, including HPAI, bovine tuberculosis, and other emerging diseases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact research at the intersection of epidemiology, animal health, and disease control.

While in this role, you will:

  • Conduct data analysis encompassing disease diagnosis, epidemiological and spatiotemporal data analysis, and risk assessment, to inform evidence-based interventions.
  • Design, coordinate and perform field studies, support extramural grant/fellowship applications, prepare manuscripts for high impact scientific journals and present scientific research at national and international scientific meetings.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Ph.D. in Epidemiology, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Public Health, or a related field

Minimum Requirements

PhD in Epidemiology, Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science, Public Health, or a related field, with a strong background in quantitative epidemiology.
