Description:

Hot Section Engineering (HSE) at Pratt & Whitney is currently looking for an experienced and highly-motivated Methods Engineer to join its team to advance our Aero Thermal Fluids focused methods initiatives. The Hot Section Engineering Advanced Methods group is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing design tools and processes. These tools and processes enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine technology. The primary focus of this group is for Hot Section Engineering, but requires coordination and collaboration with other methods groups within Pratt & Whitney In this role, the HSE Methods Engineer will collaborate with a small methods team and customer organizations on strategic methods development tasks for aerothermal analysis while also working directly with teams tasked with solving challenging problems focused on engine safety, reliability, capability, robustness, and affordability. The Methods Engineer will also be expected to address aerothermal analysis tool and process needs as well as support and maintain existing aerothermal analysis tools. Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

4+ years proficiency in aerodynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and computational aerothermal methods and tools is required.

US Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated record of accomplishments in leading methods initiatives is expected.

Good communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential to be successful in this role.

Experience with Python and/or FORTRAN

Experience with ANSYS

Advanced degree

The final level of position will depend on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Education: B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering is the minimum requirement for this position.

Advanced degrees (M.S. and/or Ph.D.) in mechanical or aerospace engineering are preferred.
