Job Description
This position provides dynamic and innovative leadership to optimize admissions, enrollment, engagement, retention, and graduation rates for all students. The Director is responsible for managing a comprehensive admissions program for domestic and international students; collaborating on and implementing Northland’s enrollment management plan with the Director of Marketing and Recruiting; assessing to ensure continuous improvement of systems and processes designed to meet enrollment and retention targets; planning, coordinating, and improving the experience for students on the East Grand Forks campus including Student Senate, Student Ambassadors, and Student Life; overseeing and supervising staff members within the department; and, is expected to be a highly collaborative partner with appropriate Northland departments (e.g. academic and student affairs, athletics, marketing, student services, workforce development, and alumni) and external stakeholders (e.g. high schools, industry, and community organizations) to ensure student enrollment, engagement, retention, and success.
Provide supervision and direction of the college-wide admissions, registration, engagement, and retention processes.
Plan, implement, manage, and direct all admissions and registration functions to ensure potential and current students have the information needed to navigate from first touch through enrollment.
Supervision and evaluation of the daily operations of the Front Reception Desks, and Admissions office staff, exercising supervisory authority to employees to effectively perform assigned job duties to achieve the annual objectives of the department.
Develop and monitor the respective budgets to ensure that admissions, enrollment, and engagement needs of the college are met. Conduct all budget tasks with strategic and long-range plans in mind.
Serve as the Student Life Coordinator for the East Grand Forks campus.
Represent the College, Student Affairs department and the office on various committees.
Salary Range:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
2-3 years of demonstrated progressive supervisory experience.
Experience with enrollment management and retention in a higher education setting.
Knowledge of customer relationships management (CRM) software.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as an ability to prioritize work duties and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to problem solve situations with a positive attitude utilizing critical thinking skills.
Knowledge of state and federal statutes and regulations, including FERPA, to ensure compliance and data integrity.
Preferred Qualification
Master’s degree in education, Student Services, Marketing, Counseling or a related field
A thorough understanding of Minnesota State Board policies and procedures, Northland policies and procedures, the Northland program inventory and curriculum design, and an understanding of the Northland strategic work plan.
Comprehensive computer software skills including, but not limited to, ISRS, DARS, Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, Perceptive Content, etc.
Five years of progressive supervisory and leadership experience in higher education
