Eversource Energy Lead Analyst, AMI Program (Hybrid) in East Berlin, Connecticut

Our Lead Analyst will be a key member of the Eversource’s Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program Team, overseeing a variety of regulatory reporting requirements, process improvements, evaluating proposed program roadmap initiatives, and program reporting. This position will be responsible for leading a team of analysts that are dedicated to Eversource achieving its AMI strategic goals across three state jurisdictions (CT, MA, NH).

In addition to leading a team with a variety functions, this position is responsible for conducting research and analysis of all regulatory requests and reporting requirements to support regulatory filings in partnership with various teams and managers. The assessment of data could involve quantitative modeling of information critical in evaluating the financial, operational, and business needs of the long- and short-term operations. Research and develop new initiatives and assist with the communication of the analyses and associated strategies to the appropriate business organizations including senior management. This role also includes mentorship and development of team members, including leading the team in providing the balance between business needs and IT requirements.

This is a hybrid role. The first three months are fulltime in the office.

Essential Functions

  • Assigned to support several different regulatory requirements and will be expected to work closely with a variety of staff, teams, and managers.
  • Assist management in the hiring and development of Analysts in the group.
  • Proficient in reporting, analysis, and visualization tools
  • Works with business areas on process improvement
  • Oversees the facilitation of the design, build and maintenance of reporting analytics.
  • Assists in developing streamlined approaches to minimize manual processes and duplicative work.
  • Responsible for overseeing the creation and maintenance of process documentation where required.
  • Oversees the preparation of data, presentations, reports, or information as needed to assist business improvement initiatives and respond to regulatory requests for information. May include repackaging existing information and/or creating new, ad hoc reports or tools.
  • Will work under primary direction of the Manager, AMI Process Optimization and Business Integration with secondary direction from Directors and senior leadership within the AMI Program and Customer Operations organization.
  • Develops written reports and presentations.
  • Works effectively as a team with others in the organization.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Knowledge of regulatory, legislative, and industry trends in the energy sector and utility operations, including advances in technology and the resulting impact on the state and region.
  • Demonstrated ability in working across functional / organizational boundaries is desirable. Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with concepts related to emerging utility technologies (e.g. distributed energy, grid modernization, storage, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Skill in understanding and using data to measure and explain, extracting and analyzing data, working with IT systems, developing analytics, collaborating with others, communicating in a business setting with all levels of management.
  • Strong ability to design, build, analyze and interpret data models, ability to use standard business reporting software to build and modify reports and in using data from a data warehouse or other database.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills,
  • Advanced Excel, visualization and reporting tools skills, process analysis tools use.
  • Experience in python or other languages, a plus
  • Knowledge, experience and demonstrated ability in areas of reporting and analyses.
  • Requires self-directed work ethic and abilities, capable of taking the lead on action items or initiatives while also collaborating with others within and outside of the department.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Business Administration, Finance or related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • MBA preferred.

Experience :

  • Eight (8) years related experience. Experience in data handling and business process/performance analysis, strongly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $114,000 - $127,000 plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
