Mobility Tax Specialist BCForward is currently seeking for a highly motivated Mobility Tax Specialist for a hybrid Opportunity in Minnesota Position Title: Mobility Tax Specialist Location: Eagan, MN Anticipated Start Date: 08/26/2024. Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCForward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 8+ Months Job Type: Contract Pay Range: $40/hr - $45/hr. Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.). We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Contract Mobility Tax Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, advanced financial acumen, and a proven track record of driving strategic decision-making through financial analysis. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Serve as the mobility tax subject matter expert (SME) * First point of consultation for mobility team, HR business partners, cross functional groups, and assignees related to global assignment cost estimates, assignment planning, assignee questions and business inquiries * Oversight and application of the mobility tax programs and for the escalation of policy issues * Provide individual tax guidance for cross border remote work requests * Conduct periodic benchmarking reviews of tax policy provisions * Provide communications and education sessions for stakeholders * Monitor individual tax law changes and determine any process changes needed and the cost impact to tax equalization costs * Cultivate and foster strong working relationships with mobility team, finance, payroll, compensation, corporate tax, mobility vendors, assignees, business partners and other stakeholders * Manage escalations related to mobility tax matters. Provide mobility tax process oversight, regular reporting, and identify improvements * Tax equalization collection and payments * End-to-end payment, invoice, and gross-up processes for global and domestic mobility * Shadow payroll arrangements * Secondment agreements * Social security agreements * Annual compensation, hypothetical tax, and social tax adjustment review * Review of annual equity vesting for mobile population * Identify and support new and existing technology platforms in the preparation of cost estimates, assignment packages and orientation for potential assignees Vendor partnership * Oversee vendor management and maintain vendor relationships to ensure compliance and delivery of services to aiming-higher standards * Review authorization lists for assignees eligible for tax provider services * Review vendor hypothetical tax tables and tax model assumptions included and identify adjustments and/or improved assignee communication, where needed * Final review of vendor tax invoices and out of scope fees * Annual review and sign off of company tax positions with vendor * Participate in vendor reviews and proposals MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree * Minimum 5 years of global mobility tax experience * Strong technical knowledge of expatriate tax concepts along with practical tax experience with cross-border assignments * General understanding of international individual tax regimes and ability to independently conduct research and interpret individual tax systems * Familiarity with international assignment tax policy mechanics and computations, interpretation of such policies, and communication of policy aspects to assignees and stakeholders * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong customer service orientation * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong multi-tasker with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple work assignments * Self-motivated, works with minimal supervision, and is capable to work under time constraints and deadlines * Extensive consultative experience. A ility to provide clear recommendations and solutions for complex mobility individual tax inquiries, challenges, and emerging needs. * Excellent computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft Office Suite * Solid project management skills * Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to use sound judgement to drive complex issues to resolution and influence others to achieve results * Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to work globally across cultures and with differing time zones when needed * No immigration sponsorship available for this position - CPA is highly preferred. - Candidate must have "global mobility tax" experience. General accountants or tax specialists/consultants will not qualify. - Assignment Pro (Equus Platform) a huge plus as we are currently transitioning to this system - International mobility tax highly preferred (specifically US, Switzerland, UK, France, Singapore, Brazil, Australia, and India.
