What You Will Do :

We are currently searching for a Scientific Data Engineer. The Predictive Toxicology Branch of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is seeking an individual to develop methods and software for novel predictive models, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applications. This position will work across the Division of Translational Toxicology (DTT) to synthesize toxic informatic, spatiotemporal, dose-response, and systems toxicology data sources. This is a full-time opportunity located in Durham, NC.

• Publish research study results as lead author.

• Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings.

• Program and use computers to store, process, and analyze data.

• Analyze laboratory findings.

What You Will Need :

• Master’s Degree

• A minimum of TWO (2) years of experience in Scientific Research, Clinical Research, Information Sciences, Mathematics, Biochemical sciences, Bioinformatics training, Biochemistry, and/or related science experience.

• Experience working with large data sets.

• Experience with Pipeline development.

• Previous experience with Data Quality Control, Data Harmonization, Data cleaning, and/or Data analysis.

• Has algorithm development experience.

• Statistical Modeling experience

• Experience with Clinical and/or translational research

• Machine Learning experience.

• Proficient in using Linux, Java, CSS, JavaScript, ArcGIS, PHP, R, Bash, GitHub, and/or Python

What Would Be Nice To Have :

• Previous experience with the National Institute of Health (NIH).
