Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Trainer 2 Public Safety Admin Security in Durant, Oklahoma
Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for the ongoing training of Choctaw Nation Public Safety to ensure that all Casino Medics, Lighthorse Police Officers, Tribal Security Officers, and Public Safety Dispatchers have met minimum skill requirements to perform job related skills. You will report to the Public Safety Training Coordinator.
Full Time M-F | Day Shift | $25.69/HR
Primary Tasks:
You will assess the training needs for minimum required skills proficiency and certifications for each Public Safety Officer or Employee.
Conduct specialized or advanced training for disciplines such as firearms, defensive tactics, or other non-basic courses that require specialized instructor training only available to certified peace officers.
Develop curriculum and training programs.
Schedule and conduct new-hire, continuing education policy and procedures training for public safety personal.
You will determine training needs and develop remedial or follow-up training for Public Safety Officers or Employees who cannot meet requirements of minimum skills proficiency or certifications.
Monitor progress and completion of approved remedial training plan to ensure completion of corrective action.
Create training records on all officers.
Select outside instruction, contract or other CNO offices, to ensure training meets department standards and coordinate with supervisor and other trainers to correct deficiencies in the training being presented.
Provide reports monthly showing the status of training completed, officers on remedial training; complete other departmental/CNO reports.
Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Must have a valid State driver’s license
Oklahoma CLEET Peace Officer Certification
State/Federal/Specialized law enforcement instructor certifications in areas such as: Firearms, Law Enforcement Drivers Training and Defensive Tactics.
Interpersonal skills and time management skills
Correspondence skills both orally and written
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, SPILLMAN report writing software
3 years prior experience as certified peace officer
Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and make logical decisions.
