Windchill System Administrator/CAD System Administrator

Dundee (Hybrid)

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000 p/a DOE

The Engineering Systems Support Specialist is primarily responsible for maintaining, configuring, and supporting the Creo CAD and Windchill systems. This role ensures smooth and efficient CAD operations for the hardware design engineering teams. Applicants should have a strong background in CAD and experience in PLM/PDM system administration.

Key responsibilities

• User Support: Provide hands-on technical support for Creo, SolidWorks and Windchill users, including troubleshooting software issues, conducting user training, and creating documentation

• System Administration: Install, configure and maintain Creo, SolidWorks and Windchill software and environments ensuring system stability and performance

• Data and Version Control: Manage design data within Windchill ensuring version control, change management and appropriate security settings for data integrity

• System Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute software updates, patches, and upgrades for Creo, SolidWorks and Windchill coordinating with IT and engineering departments to minimize downtime

• Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and implement best practices for optimizing usage and processing speeds

• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, licensing and upgrades, generate reports as needed for engineering and management teams

Required skills and experience :

• Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent experience

• 3 years min relevant experience

• Proficiency in CAD software e.g. Creo or SolidWorks (Creo preferred)

• Experience with PLM/PDM system administration, preferably PTC Windchill.

• Excellent technical writing skills for process documentation, training, and maintaining system technical documentation

• Have a sense of urgency with the ability to multi-task

• Enthusiastic and self-motivated with ability to take initiative and work independently

• Detail oriented

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desired experience :

• Windchill/Creo System and Business Administration experience

• Strong understanding of CAD data management practices

• Experience in Linux

• Project Management skills
