Aspis Graphic Design/Marketing Intern in Duluth, Minnesota

We are seeking a motivated and talented Intern specializing in Web Design / Marketing to join our creative team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The selected candidate will work closely with our marketing team, assisting in the creation of visually captivating digital assets and user-friendly web designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop visually appealing and user-centered website layouts, graphics, and visual elements.

  • Assist in creating engaging digital content, including banners, infographics, social media visuals, and more.

  • Collaborate on UI/UX design projects, contributing fresh ideas and concepts to enhance user experiences.

  • Help maintain and update existing websites, ensuring content remains current and consistent.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, contributing to the development of creative design concepts.

  • Conduct research on design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to stay up-to-date with industry advancements.

  • Provide support in the preparation of design presentations and project documentation.

  • Complete tasks and projects within established timelines, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant degree program in Web Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with web design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).

  • Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles and responsive design concepts.

  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with an ability to generate innovative design ideas.

  • Solid communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and creative projects is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with WordPress, HTML/CSS, and or web development principles is a plus.

  • You must successfully pass a reference check and background check conducted by Aspis.

  • You must successfully pass a background investigation for contract employment conducted by the United States government.

  • You must be able to commute to the designated job site with less than 1 day's notice.

Location:

This position is located in either Duluth, MN within a designated HUBZone.

Compensation:

This is a paid internship with a competitive hourly rate. The current hourly rate is between 15-20 / hour depending on experience.
