We are offering a role for a Cash Application Specialist in Duluth, Georgia. This role serves as a key player in our finance team, primarily focusing on supporting daily operations, metrics, and reporting of corporate cash applications. The successful candidate will be able to handle a high volume of transactions, requiring fast decision-making abilities and minimal supervision. This role is highly analytical, requiring meticulous research and reconciliation of customer payments to reflect the correct status and balance of customer accounts receivable.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the receipt, processing, and reconciliation of cash receipts on a daily basis across multiple currencies, legal entities, and bank accounts.

• Apply and reconcile internal and external customer payments including importation and application of cash batches, wires, and ACH payments to minimize unapplied cash over payments and short payments.

• Process physical checks received and handle returned checks accordingly.

• Regularly process credit card charges and upload and apply credit card payment files as available.

• Research unidentified/unapplied cash receipts and resolve issues in accounts receivable.

• Process and service customer refund requests as needed.

• Assist with unclaimed property reporting or processing as required.

• Build and maintain productive relationships with key external and internal customers, using a customer-centric approach to troubleshoot issues or inquiries.

• Ensure timely filing of cash batch back-up in a logical storage and retrieval system according to retention policy.

• Follow up with customer contacts for payment-related questions and support documentation.

• Balance multiple bank accounts to Subledger on a daily basis.

• Prepare bank deposits daily and track daily cash receipts.

• Coordinate wire transfer requests to Treasury Department and track and drive timely resolution of unidentified cash and liability exposure.

• Understand Domestic and International payment systems, Wires, ACH payment processing to ensure that payments and settlements are processed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Meet performance metric goals established by management.

• Assist with requests for annual audit and quarterly review as required.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Oracle ERP required

• Must possess strong customer service and communication skills

• Proven experience in cash handling and payment processing

• Familiarity with accounts receivable (AR) and month-end close procedures

• Ability to research, analyze, and resolve issues effectively

• Experience in supervising a team and working collaboratively

• Proficiency in preparing and presenting metric reports

• Experience in check processing and receipt management

• Ability to conduct reconciliations and troubleshoot discrepancies

• Knowledge of cash activity and property management

• Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures

• Experience in filing and maintaining organized records

• Proven ability to handle quarterly tasks efficiently

• Must possess strong skills in research analysis

• Experience in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is a plus.
