Description
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Turret Department Lead to be responsible for overseeing all operations related to laser cutting and turret punching processes. Your role will involve managing a team of technicians, ensuring efficient production, maintaining equipment, and driving process improvement initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage a team of turret operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support
Set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance evaluations
Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
Collaborate with the production planning team to develop schedules and prioritize jobs based on customer requirements and production capacity
Ensure the timely execution of turret punching operations to meet production targets
Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
Oversee the maintenance and repair of turret punching machines, ensuring their optimal performance
Coordinate with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance tasks and address equipment breakdowns promptly
Collaborate with suppliers to source spare parts, tools, and consumables required for turret punching operations
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the production of high-quality parts that meet customer specifications
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to conduct regular inspections, analyze data, and drive corrective actions
Identify process improvement opportunities to optimize turret punching operations, increase efficiency, and reduce waste
Coordinate with the tooling and die team to ensure the availability and proper maintenance of turret tooling and dies
Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to review and optimize tooling designs for manufacturability and efficiency
Monitor tooling performance, identify issues, and implement improvements to extend tool life and enhance production quality
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the Turret department
Conduct regular safety audits, trainings, and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members
Investigate and report any accidents or incidents promptly, implementing preventive measures to mitigate future risks
Maintain accurate documentation of production records, equipment maintenance logs, and quality control reports
Prepare regular reports on departmental performance, including productivity, quality metrics, and equipment downtime
Provide updates to senior management regarding departmental activities, challenges, and opportunities
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience in turret punching operations within a manufacturing environment
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of effectively leading and motivating a technical team
In-depth knowledge of laser cutting and turret punching equipment, tools, and processes
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software for programming laser cutting and turret punching machines
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on process optimization
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Understanding of quality control principles and experience in implementing quality control processes
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within a manufacturing setting
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred

- Monday-Thursday; 4:00pm - 2:00am
