Job Summary:Screens eligible women for breast and cervical cancer and assists women with abnormal results to receive follow-up care.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Facilitates and/or performs breast and cervical cancer screenings.
  • Collaborates with clinical and provider staff to increasebreast and cervical cancerscreening and services for eligible women.
  • Tracks, notifies, and follows up on all abnormal results ofbreast and cervical cancer screeningsby reviewing Well Woman Health Check forms.
  • Performs outreach and educational activities at sites throughout the community to facilitatebreast and cervical cancerscreenings of all eligible women and to bring awareness of program to potential clients and partnering agencies.
  • Assists patients in scheduling appointments and overcoming barriers to care.
  • Assists Women\'s Health Program Supervisor with monitoring the completion of data requirements and periodic reporting requirements for all Well Woman clients.
  • Assists patients to complete Breast/Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP) applications.
  • Assists enrollees with Patient Navigation.

Required Minimum Qualifications - Education, Experience, Certificates & Licenses:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in a health related or social service field.
  • ACA enrollment specialist training required.
  • Driver\'s License and Proof of Insurance may be required if requesting mileage reimbursement.
  • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Required Language Skills:

  • Ability to comprehend and compose instructions, correspondence and communications in English and Spanish in both oral and written format.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, internal providers and staff and other agency staff working in cooperation with the organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally exert enough force to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to continuously remain in a stationary position.
  • Ability to constantly move about inside the workplace to assist patients, operate office or medical equipment, etc.
  • Possesses hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to constantly operate computers, telephone, and other office machinery.
  • Possesses close visual acuity necessary to accurately record and view information on a computer monitor, handwritten and typed documents.
  • Ability to discern the nature of sounds at a normal spoken volume.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to gather data in an organized fashion from varied sources.
  • Ability to perform a variety of assignments occasionally requiring independent judgment.
  • Ability to deal with challenges involving several variables in routine situations.
  • Knowledge of health plans and community health centers preferred.
  • Must have some knowledge of pre-paid insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare and the ACA.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Health Records preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.

Work Environment & Conditions:

  • Work environment is typical of a health clinic setting with occasional exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and hazardous chemicals.
  • Community outreach work is occasionally performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to outside weather conditions to include heat and cold, and humid, windy, and dry conditions.
  • Work requires reliable transportation as the position requires frequent travel and extended hours to include early mornings, evenings, and weekends for community outreach events.
