Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division Donegal

The Abbott Diabetes Care division based in Donegal Town manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

Main Purpose of the Role

The Operational Excellence Engineer is responsible for creating and leading the advancement of Operational Excellence principles and practices across the site through internal & external collaborations, delivering high impact sustainable business results.

Main Resp onsibilities

• Responsibleformaintaining & improvingthesites Enterprise Excellenceinitiativesincludingbutnotlimitedtothefollowing; 6S Program, Gemba Program, andShingomethodology.

• Promoteandfoster a cultureofcontinuousimprovementacrossthesite.

• Act as a changeagentimplementingleaninitiativesthatarealignedwithbusinessstrategies.

• Manage departmental and site specific KPI’s and reporting, including maintaining site visual boards.

• Responsible for leading problem-solving activities across the site, utilizing various improvement tools including applicable training activities.

• Primary continuous improvement champion on site through the deployment of lean six sigma and other CI tools & techniques.

• Continuetobuilddivisional/siteawarenessandengagementofOperationalExcellenceprinciplesandmethodologiesthrougheffectivecommunication, education & training.

• Deployleansixsigma, changemanagementtoolsandmethodologiestoensureprojectsuccesse.g. Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, DMAIC etc.

• Maintaingeneralsitevisualboardstoprovideclearandtransparentlinkageofperformance, continuousimprovementactivityandtheSite Strategy Map.

• Manageallaspectsofthedivision/site'sprojectportfoliomanagementprogram.

• Track andreportprojectstatusefficientlytoallrelevantinternalandexternalstakeholders.

Education & Background

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Engineering/Science

• 3 years experience working in a manufacturing/engineering/science environment
