Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will operate fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, and punch machines that cut, shape, and bend metal plates, sheets, tubes, and structures.

Responsibilities

• Load material into the machine

• Perform own setups

• Program and repair the machine

• Interpret mechanical engineered drawings

• Troubleshoot most issues independently

• Clean machines and complete preventative maintenance per schedule

• Complete necessary paperwork

• Report on supply levels

• Train others

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operation

• General labor skills

• Proficiency with hand tools

• Ability to use a tape measure

• Previous manufacturing experience, either through school or on the job

• Reliability and willingness to show up every day

• Flexible skill sets and willingness to perform multiple jobs including press brake and fabrication machine shop tasks

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment

The manufacturing environment requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as foot, eye, and ear protection when in production locations. There is potential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat, and/or excessive noise.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dixon, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
