Job Description

Lobar, Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time salaried Equipment Manager. Successful candidates will need to be have strong leadership, problem solving, communication, coordination, and time management skills, as well as extensive experience in the commercial construction industry. Experience and knowledge of construction equipment engines, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems is also extremely important.  Diagnosing mechanical issues and implementing cost effective repair solutions is essential to be successful in this position.

This position is based at our Corporate Office located in Dillsburg, PA.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the General Superintendents, Project Superintendents, and Project Managers to effectively manage the equipment used on our jobs.
  • Inspection of equipment to identify faults, replacing defective parts, and performing preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and safe performance of the machinery / tool.
  • Lead, supervise, train, and coach the Equipment Shop staff.
  • Develop and implement an Equipment Inventory Control Plan.
  • Assist the Project Management and Accounting Department in the proper allocation of Lobar Equipment rental charges to the appropriate projects.
  • Responsible for updating the equipment tracking computer software program on a daily basis.
  • Identify Capital Expensed pieces of equipment that are nearing end-of-life and discuss replacement with Executive Management when necessary.
  • Act as Lobar's Equipment Purchasing Agent.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key equipment / parts vendors, fabrication shops, large equipment haulers, and equipment rental / repair companies
  • Insure that all Lobar owned equipment on our job sites is in compliance with all OSHA regulations.
  • Schedule and coordinate the delivery and return of all Lobar owned equipment. A strong understanding of state specific hauling laws, permits, and licenses is imperative.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a relevant trade program or technical school (Preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in the construction industry
  • Proficiency in the use of computers, copiers, scanners, and ability to learn new technology
  • Well-organized and high attention to detail and accuracy of the work
  • Energized by independent work and resourceful
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to prioritize deadlines and manage varied tasks
  • Authorized to work in the United States with federally funded projects
