Bristol Bay Native Association TAS Staff Training Specialist in Dillingham, Alaska

POSITION TITLE: TAS Staff Training Specialist

OBJECTIVE: Train staff on BBNA's implementation of Tribal Assistance Software (TAS), a modular server based data entry program.

This software is utilized to track client data, benefit information, payment distributions, and to collect/prepare data for submission to Federal agencies. The Training Specialist will work closely with the Database Services Division Manager and all Workforce Development staff to determine TAS training needs, host in-person and virtual training sessions, and develop training regimens and documentation. This position will also collaborate with our software vendor, Eaglesun Systems Products, to supplement their own training and gain insights into new TAS developments. QUALIFICATIONS: Job qualifications are stated below as Essential Job Results. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to accomplish these job results. Preferred: Undergraduate degree or professional certifications in database systems or related field(s). 2-3 years' work experience in a data entry, database management, or technical support role. Related work experience may be substituted for formal education at BBNA discretion.

Previous experience in hosting staff trainings in a virtual or in-person setting.

  • Highly developed customer service skills, paired with the ability to convey training concepts in an easily understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with the TAS program or other Tribal support software platforms highly desired.
  • Advanced knowledge of data entry programs, Windows 10/11 platforms, Remote Desktop Protocol, Remote Desktop Web Access, Microsoft Office applications, Crystal Reports program, SQL database management programs, Google Workspace, or Atlassian software is highly valued.

``` - ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS Achieves Program Goals by - Establishing a comprehension of Public Law 102-477 and services provided under and outside of this law, including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Low Income Heating Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Low Income Water Assistance Program (LIWAP), General Assistance (GA), Higher Education (HI ED), Child Care Development (CCD), and Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (TVR) services. Develop an understanding of how these services are utilized to assist Tribal members, how BBNA implements these services, and how TAS is utilized to facilitate service delivery. - Work closely with the Database Services Division Manager, Data Entry Services Division Manager, and Eaglesun Systems Products, Inc. to establish expert competency in all facets of the TAS program and its associated reporting utilities. - Achieving a high degree of operational knowledge to successfully train staff users of the program. - Develop training materials, documentation, and training regimens that will be distributable across various platforms. This includes Microsoft Teams for virtual trainings, Google Drive and/or Confluence documentation libraries, and in-person training settings. - A close working relationship with the Data Entry Services Division and Crystal Reports Specialist will be established to ensure that TAS data is being recorded and reported correctly. - Attendance of virtual or in-person training courses prescribed by Eaglesun will be required, as these will be essential to the understanding of the TAS program. Become familiar with the Crystal Reports and FTANF reporting applications, which are essential to the Workforce Development Department's daily workflows. - Exhibiting a high degree of ethical behavior, as this position regularly interacts with sensitive data within the TAS system. Training Specialist will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon acceptance of employment.

This position may be prescribed other duties as required by the Database Service Division Manager or WFD Director. Keeps Management Informed by

  • Keeping managers informed of any process changes within the TAS and will work closely with Eaglesun to test new features, apply updates, and identify problems.
  • Maintaining program records and submits required reports.
  • Participating in scheduled Workforce Department team meetings. Monitors and improves program and service quality. by
  • Contributing ideas and information learned from feedback and work experiences.

Protect program integrity and client privacy by Agreeing to BBNA's policy on confidentiality, keeping confidential information gained through employment secure, during and after this employment. Exhibiting a high degree of ethical behavior, as this position regularly interacts with sensitive data within the TAS system. Training Specialist will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon acceptance of employment.

Travel in and out of region regularly by Scheduling well planned trips to provide services, participate in training , workshops and to exchange current information significant to regional, Tribal, State and Federal entities. Keep Village and Tribal councils informed of travel plans and training events in the communities we serve. Trainings may be conducted virtually through Microsoft Teams or in-person.

Contribute to the overall team effort by Welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to add value to the organization; helping others accomplish related job results as and where needed. Cross-training with other WFD staff to enhance understanding of other roles and provide backup as needed.

WAGE: $21.87/hr ($42,656.00) - $30.08/hr ($58,653.00) REPORTS TO: Database Services Division Manager DUTY STATION: Dillingham, AK
