Excellus Health Plan Inc. Rx Concierge Consultant Pharmacist in Dewitt, New York

Summary:

This strategic pharmacist position will be responsible for providing pharmacy consultative sales and clinical implementation support for the Rx Concierge Program and other innovative pharmacy solutions that we deploy to our markets. Clients will include small- to mid-size PBMs as well as Commercial and Medicare employer groups, both within our service area and outside our covered region. This pharmacist will also participate in the day-to-day work related to these innovative pharmacy solutions and will be tasked with a variety of outreach and oversight activities. The Pharmacist is highly visible to internal leadership within PHE, Marketing and Sales in addition to frequent interactions with external brokers and specific employer groups.

Essential Accountabilities:

Will be responsible for communicating the Concierge program to our clients and addressing related inquiries, maintaining a significant depth of programmatic and clinical knowledge and proactively pursue and close new business in collaboration with the Enterprise Pharmacy Growth team.

Perform provider, member and pharmacy outreach related to our clinical programs.

Evaluate pharmacy industry and market events and/or cost trends, assess and apply clinical literature to enhance and evolve pharmacy program offerings. Effectively build and cultivate relationships with employers, consultant partners and internal stakeholders.

Provide consultative support for innovative sales opportunities and ensure successful clinical program implementation for our pharmacy program offerings. Works closely with the Pharmacy Consultation team and Pharmacy Solutions leadership to identify and evaluate suitable client opportunities and educational strategies for the sales team.

In partnership with Marketing, oversee development of informational materials and correspondence to brokers, employer groups, providers and members that communicate our pharmacy program offerings and the value stories and benefits of implementation.

Act as clinical liaison to external vendors that help support our work and perform quality checks on system applications and functions.

Work closely with Data Analytics team to identify new opportunities and provide clinical insight into identification and reporting.

Assist with new pharmacy program development and implementation.

Keeps leadership informed of successes, challenges and barriers of the programs when they arise and provides recommendations on logical and effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Unrestricted NYS Licensed Pharmacist.

Pharm.D. In lieu of a Pharm.D., a Bachelors in Pharmacy is required with at least 4 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in a managed care setting. Background in pharmacy sales and/or consulting strongly preferred.

Prior Health Plan or PBM experience desired.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating with other health care professionals and non-clinicians.

Fundamental knowledge of drug information process/references and ability to conduct research.

Strong clinical pharmacy experience including participation in patient management initiatives.

Able to serve as a knowledgeable liaison to internal and external organizations, to foster positive relationships with our vendor/partners, and to appropriately advocate for the corporation.

Strong computer skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work while sitting and/or standing while at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.

Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed. Other travel outside the service area related to conferences and symposiums will be periodically required.

Must have a valid Class D license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

The ability to hear, understand and speak clearly while using a phone, with or without a headset.

Compensation Range(s):

Grade 210A: Minimum $99, 133- Maximum $183, 394

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position.
