Principal Financial Group Infrastructure Engineer I (Hybrid) in Des Moines, Iowa

What You'll Do

We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Workspace Services team. In this role you will deliver software and cloud-based solutions that contribute to a great employee experience while collaborating in an agile environment to implement a broad technology strategy. The Workspace Services team provides and supports technology to empower Principal’s global workforce to collaborate, communicate and serve our customers in a secure manner wherever they are located.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Play a crucial role in modernizing systems and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure products

  • Work with team members in pairing and mobbing to increase knowledge.

  • Develop and maintain high-quality code that aligns with Workspace Services' strategic goals.

  • Explore and execute technology solutions from design through implementation across the enterprise.

  • Maintain security practices for Workspace Services technologies.

  • Assist in communicating technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicate business objectives to the technical team.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering, or math-related field) or equivalent experience.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in an agile team environment.

  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to learn new technologies.

  • Passion for innovation and a willingness to embrace change to help cultivate an environment where all team members can thrive.

Skills That Will Help You Stand Out:

  • Extensive skill in supporting the following products: Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Box, ProofPoint, Audio Visual, etc.

  • Proficiency in programming, scripting, or general automation experience (PowerShell, Python, etc.)

  • Experience supporting applications using security, governance and risk technologies (LeanIX, Proofpoint, Purview, etc.)

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps (GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, etc.)

Salary Range Information

Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

$60000 - $101000 / year

Time Off Program

Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Hours

This role will partner with our global teams and has an expectation for flexibility in your work schedule to have a frequent start time around 7:30 am CST.

Work Environments

This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
