PCG is seeking candidates for a Fire/EMS Consultant position who will work as an integral part of a dynamic team along with peers and senior staff. The Fire/EMS Consultant will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day activities of the Public Safety Consulting Services team within the Financial and Strategic Solutions (FSS) Center of Excellence. This role will use knowledge of fire/emergency medical services (EMS) standards, practical and clinical experience, and current best practices in the fire/EMS field to lead and facilitate public safety consulting projects. Project examples include ambulance service feasibility studies, department merger/consolidation studies, technical assistance subject matter expert writing for special assignments, EMS cost-of-service analysis, fire department standards of cover reports, fire/EMS operational analysis, department staffing and pay scale analysis, and strategic/master planning. This position will work closely with a variety of stakeholders such as other fire/EMS experts, project teams, data analysts, consulting staff, and clients. The Fire/EMS Consultant will participate in diverse tasks including launching and implementing new client-facing projects; conducting research and data analysis; writing reports of findings and recommendations; supporting business development efforts; creating and delivering trainings; and providing input to improve business processes, tools, and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as subject matter expert for Fire/EMS consulting projects.
Responsible for establishing the overall project methodology to address the scope of work and defining the implementation approach, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
Facilitates the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables.
Defines project tasks and resource requirements.
Develops full scale project plans.
Conducts research and carries out quantitative and qualitative analysis and develops written reports of findings for fire/EMS consulting studies.
Uses knowledge of current fire and EMS industry best practices, standards, and regulations to inform development of findings and recommendations.
Presents findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.
Manages project tasks, deliverables, and timelines. Communicates any issues to project managers and recommends solutions.
Reviews and be an expert in business operations for service and efficiency improvements.
Maintains positive client relationships and deploys client success measures.
Develops and executes new growth strategies.
Identifies new sales opportunities and follow-up on sales leads.
Leads proposal writing teams, including writing sections, coordinating efforts, and preparing proposal submissions.
Prepares a wide range of written materials for client management, business development, and marketing including presentations, responses to request for proposals, quotes, blog posts, and sales initiatives.

Qualifications
Bachelor degree or 10 years’ experience required, graduate degree preferred
10+ years’ relevant work experience.
Comprehensive knowledge of fire service and EMS industry operations including applicable standards and best practices.
Experience conducting data analysis and writing technical reports to identify findings and recommendations to help improve operations and service delivery for public safety organizations.
Experience with development of innovative fire/EMS delivery programs

As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $65,000-$85,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
