Delta Cnty Mosquito Control Dist 1 Field Technician in Delta, Colorado

POSITION: Field Technician

The expected seasonal job assignment is from: 4/2/2024 - 9/27/2024

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: *Prepare accurate documentation of all inspections, applications, chemical use, and requests for service as assigned. *Assist in developing weekly mosquito fogging routes based upon surveillance and RFS data. *Attend and participate in staff meetings. *Work with property owners and the general public to resolve concerns regarding mosquito control activities. *Conduct juvenile and adult mosquito monitoring for the purpose of gathering population data for control, disease surveillance, and reporting purposes. *Collect mosquito control field data utilizing data collection and recording protocols provided. *Conduct inspections of known mosquito breeding sites. *Identify and document previously unrecorded mosquito breeding sites. *Conduct pesticide applications at mosquito breeding sites according to the product label and District policies and procedures. *Clean and maintain facilities, vehicles and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS: *Ability to read, write, and comprehend the english language. *Valid Colorado Driver's License. *Current MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) in good standing.

PREFERRED SKILLS: Prior experience with pesticide application.

WAGE: Starting Wage is $18.00 per hour.

SHIFT: Full time seasonal work assignment. Season is from 4/2/2024 - 09/27/2024.

JOB SITE: Administritative duties are performed in office. All other work assignments are completed outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions. Will work in mosquito populations and with pesticides. Must be physically able to lift 50-80 pound bags in and out of a work truck.
