Job Title: Custodial Maintenance Specialist

Location: Delta, CO

Reports to: Operations Administrator

Purpose: Responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of VCA buildings, grounds, and equipment.

Pay Scale: $16.80- $21.22 per hour

Hours/Week: 40 hours (Non-Exempt, Full-time)

Working Days/Year: 250, can trade holiday weeks for other time off; works break weeks

Qualifications: Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent

Must have a valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check to work in a school.

Special Knowledge/Skills: The right candidate will be highly experienced in custodial and maintenance work with preference given to candidates with experience working in a school or educational setting.

Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in custodial and maintenance work.

General Description of Duties: This position will perform custodial and maintenance duties to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, security, safety, and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment, as well as, compliance with all state and school regulations.

Skills/Abilities:

Required: Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs, carry, push, and/or pull in the course of duties with significant climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling. Knowledge of work order processes and procedures. Ability to use basic computer skills in daily functions and documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read technical manuals and drawings. Experience using hand and electrical tools. Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. Ability to work effectively and independently. Knowledge of school safety regulations, facility requirements, and state regulations. Plumbing maintenance and repair

Preferred: Experience with the standard requirements of school custodial and maintenance building, grounds, and equipment.

Major Responsibilities and Duties: Perform a variety of custodial duties including, but not limited to: Emptying trash cans; Cleaning frequently used and touched surfaces; Dusting; Vacuuming, mopping, shampooing, finishing, and buffing floors Cleaning and restocking restrooms; and Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning and maintenance projects. Perform basic maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and equipment including, but not limited to: Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc.; Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues; Install appliances and equipment; Repair office items such as chairs, tables, etc. to ensure safety; Snow shoveling/removal as needed; Trash collection; Warehouse organization; Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and ballasts; Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation). Conduct regular safety inspections as they pertain to maintenance needs of the buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe learning and working environment. Utilize computer and technology for: Receiving and responding to maintenance, repair, nd cleaning requests;
