CareVet Veterinary Assistant in Defiance, Ohio
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital and possess a strong passion for animal care.
Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with exams, surgeries, and other procedures
- Provide care and comfort to animals before, during, and after procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests and prepare samples for analysis
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication
- Clean and maintain equipment and facilities
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
