Belcan is a global provider of engineering services, specializing in design and manufacturing solutions. We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to join our team in Decatur, AL. This role is critical in enhancing manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, and implementing cost-saving measures at our customer's facility.
Job Responsibilities:
Analyze production schedules, specifications, and orders to understand manufacturing methods and activities.
Design and optimize production processes for efficiency and reduced waste.
Develop and implement quality control strategies to improve product reliability and minimize costs.
Collaborate with management and stakeholders to establish production and design standards.
Lead the specification of tooling and equipment, ensuring effective product launch.
Optimize work center and factory layouts for improved line balancing and manpower efficiency.
Review engineering documentation to ensure compliance with design for manufacturing (DFM) principles.
Develop standard time data for labor operations and recommend design changes to lower manufacturing costs and enhance quality.
Coordinate cost-saving programs and participate in New Product Development (NPD) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure successful product launches.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship or ITAR compliance required.
Master's in Industrial Engineering (MSIE), Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) with 5+ years of related experience, or 12+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or industrial engineering.
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience in automotive and vehicle production assembly preferred.
Proven leadership in project management and cross-functional team collaboration.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and a track record of leading improvement initiatives (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma).

Belcan provides a competitive pay and benefits package. Salary guidelines for similar roles at Belcan are $55.00-65.00 per hour. Guidelines vary based on many factors including but not limited to education, qualifications, experience, discipline, geographic location, market, and business considerations.
