What you'll do...

The Warranty Reduction Specialist will lead efforts to identify lower cost dealer repair actions and work with cross-functional activities to implement actions in support of spend reduction objectives.

  • Support delivery of the warranty spend reduction efforts for Service Engineering Operations and Ford Customer Service Division

  • Area of responsibilities include Connected Vehicle (CV) & Electrical Systems Engineering (ESE)

  • Support for analyzing, identifying, and implementing warranty spend reduction actions, including working with cross-functional activities

  • Focus on early identification of issues

  • Champion for the voice of the dealer and customer

  • Lead development of business cases and action plans for top issues or emerging issues

  • Work collaboratively with other team members

  • Author and publish dealer communications related to warranty saving actions

  • Provide necessary warranty support to the engineering activities

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Additional responsibilities as required

  • Position is hybrid with some onsite work required in the Dearborn/Allen Park area

  • Major interfaces include: Product Development (PD) Engineering, PD Quality, Assembly Plant Vehicle Teams (PVT), and various Service Engineering Operations (SEO) departments

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5+ years of automotive experience

  • 2+ years of project management experience

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field

  • Previous Certified Automotive Technician & Dealership experience is preferred

  • Previous warranty experience is preferred

  • Strong problem solving ability

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with other areas of SEO, Engineers, Finance, Marketing, and management on a regular basis

  • Solid written & verbal skills to communicate project status and results on a regular basis

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong project management skills with the capability of organizing & managing numerous projects simultaneously from inception/feasibility, through implementation

This position is a range of salary grades 5-8 .
