Job Title: Brazer

Job Description

Assemble piping systems for HVAC systems using hand tools. Use an Oxyacetylene torch to bind metal and allow for fit ups. Learn how to braze copper pipe, measuring, and understanding how to fit metal openings/connections for joining copper pipes.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble piping systems for HVAC systems using hand tools.

  • Use an Oxyacetylene torch to bind metal and allow for fit ups.

  • Learn and apply techniques to braze copper pipes.

  • Measure and fit metal openings/connections for joining copper pipes.

  • Read a tape measure to 1/8th inch (training provided if necessary).

  • Follow verbal instructions accurately.

  • Use a brazing torch and work safely around flames.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read a tape measure to 1/8th inch (can be taught).

  • Proficiency in following verbal instructions.

  • Experience using a brazing torch and working around flames.

  • Knowledge of welding, using an Oxyacetylene torch, and working with stainless steel and copper.

  • Soldering and general production/assembly experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in brazing is a plus.

  • Experience in soldering is a plus.

  • Blueprint reading and mechanical assembly skills.

  • Experience fabricating aluminum, stainless steel, or carbon is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

Work in a clean manufacturing machine and assembly shop. The first shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch break. The dress code requires steel-toed shoes and appropriate work pants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
