Robert Half L2 Firewall/Security Engineer in Davie, Florida

Description We are inviting applications for the role of Security Network Engineer in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry. The position is located in Davie, Florida, and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. If you have a knack for security network engineering and are adept at handling multiple data centers and office locations, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

• Assume L2/3 responsibility for enterprise I& O security strategy, architecture, implementation, and steady-state support.

• Act as a subject matter advisor for all aspects of firewall perimeter security.

• Produce and maintain documentation regarding topologies, configuration, and design.

• Assess associated risks and specify recovery routines and contingency procedures.

• Implement and manage Cisco Multi-Site Datacenter ACI/SDN.

• Manage Cisco Nexus 9000 (ACI leaf/spine & standalone), Nexus 7000 (VDC), and Nexus 5000 switches.

• Oversee Cisco ASR multigigabit routers and advanced IP traffic engineering via BGP & OSPF routing.

• Handle Cisco ASA (for NAC-enabled remote-access VPN), ISE, and AnyConnect VPN.

• Oversee site-to-site VPN via FortiGate SDWAN and Palo Alto FWs.

• Manage FortiNet FortiNAC for wired, wireless, and RA-VPN network-access-control (NAC).

• Monitor cloud exchange peering with Amazon Web Services and Azure cloud computing platforms.

• Handle NetScaler Load Balancers & Infoblox centralized DHCP.

• Display L2/3 architect-caliber skills in Palo Alto firewall solutions and the Palo Alto Panorama management platform.

• Exhibit L2/3 architect-caliber skills with FortiNet FortiGate firewalls and the FortiNet FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer management platform.

• Display proficiency with configuration and operational support of BGP routing on Palo Alto and FortiNet firewall solutions.

• Show comfortability with the technical elements of network security and design, including datacenter-caliber clustered-FW perimeter solutions, IPSec VPNs (S2S, ADVPN & B2B), TCP/IP, IPS/IDS, CASB, VoIP, load balancers, routers, and switches.

• Demonstrate packet capture skills using Wireshark or other tools for packet capture, decode & analysis. Requirements

• Expertise in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, and Cisco Technologies

• Proficiency with EO/IR systems, AB Testing, and Checkpoint Firewall

• Experience with Configuration Management, Deployments, and Design

• Knowledge of Nexus Switch, Cisco ACI, and SDN

• Proficiency with Fortinet Firewalls, UCCX, and Quality of Service (QoS)

• Familiarity with NetQoS

• A strong understanding of security protocols, security architecture, and network administration

• Demonstrated experience in the Utilities/Infrastructure industry

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Relevant professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are desirable

• Willingness to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in network security

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Good organizational and planning skills
