Robert Half Insurance Follow-Up Specialist in Danville, Kentucky
Description
We are offering a contract for a permanent position as an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist in the industry located in Danville, Kentucky. The role involves managing all initial billing procedures for payers through both paper and electronic claim submissions and maintaining updated knowledge of billing requirements for all payers.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications.
• Keep customer credit records up-to-date and accurate.
• Handle daily AR reports for follow up on all outstanding balances due from insurance companies.
• Review credit balances due back to insurance payers and process them appropriately.
• Maintain a daily productivity of follow-up accounts from the AR.
• Ensure the accuracy of patient registration information.
• Regularly check websites associated with designated payers for eligibility and claim status, and stay updated with any changes.
• Conduct timely follow-up for all Payer Rejections from your designated payer that come through the Clearinghouse.
• Review all claim denials and remittance rejections for accuracy of charges and appropriate billing edits, make necessary corrections and re-file charges to the insurance company, or determine if the balance is self-pay or a contractual adjustment.
• Strive to meet and maintain quality standards established by the department.
Requirements • Proven experience as an Insurance Follow-Up Specialist or in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
• Demonstrable knowledge of insurance follow-up processes.
• Proficiency in managing Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Familiarity with healthcare billing and coding.
• Ability to interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advice.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, especially in resolving insurance claim issues.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with insurance companies and patients.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health records.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
