WR Systems Technical Writer, Lead in Dam Neck, Virginia

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret Clearance is required to start

Travel Requirements : 5 – 10%

Location: Dam Neck, VA

SUMMARY : WR has an opportunity for a Technical Writer, Lead to provide technical writing and engineering expertise to develop and document engineering and software designs, user operations, and maintenance procedures relevant to the development of the next-generation collection system.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

· Under minimal supervision, researches, develops, writes, revises, and edits content for printed and for all supporting materials.

· Interview programmers, engineers, developers, and other technical personnel to acquire knowledge of product technology and development methods.

· Gathers and researches technical information for use in documentation activities.

· Prepares written documents following standard guidelines for technical publications.

· Reviews, edits, and proofreads work, and materials developed by lower level technical writers.

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, or similar field.

· Five (5)+ years of technical writing experience.

· Intermediate knowledge in word processing software including MS Word and Adobe.

· Ability to write concise, logical, and grammatically correct documentation, suitable reports, read and interpret documents such as schematics, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety rules.

· Ability to adapt to frequent changes in workload and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
