  • ​This job is a member of the Crew Scheduling Team within the Integrated Operations Division.

  • This position will be responsible for providing classroom and on-the-job training in accordance with American Airlines and APFA / APA contractual labor agreements as it relates to the Crew Scheduling department.

What you'll do

  • ​Participates in the development and revision of training programs, materials and presentations

  • Maintains attendance and productive participation of students during training sessions

  • Evaluates and reports on the effectiveness of training courses

  • Assists Manager on Duty or Senior on Duty with daily operational requirements when necessary, provides contractual support as needed

  • Assists with research and response requests from the Flight Department, APA, and/or Inflight and APFA

  • Researches, resolves and answers inquiries as it relates to Inflight and/or APFA

  • Assists with the research and resolution of crew members pay and legality claims

  • Gathers and organizes inputs for training

  • Develops learning content based upon design, training brand, and templates (Storyboard, WBTs, PowerPoints, Quick Reference Guides, other job aides, Facilitator Guides, videos, games, knowledge checks)

  • Develops training curriculum in compliance with FAR 121 and/or FAR 117

  • Trains and evaluates new hire, recurrent, and ad hoc classes for the Crew Scheduling team

  • Reviews all training materials with the Lead Trainer and Training Manager

  • Collaborates with Flight Department, Inflight, Labor Relations, IT and other departments, as applicable, to develop implementation plans, dependencies, and timelines

  • Coordinates "business-side" aspects of crew technology development, processes planning and implementation, and resolutions of development problems, training, and communication

  • Administers tests and evaluations

  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Ability to work overtime as required, sometimes with little or no advance notice

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ​High School diploma or GED equivalency

  • 1 year Crew Tracking, Pilot, or Flight Attendant Crew scheduling experience

  • 1 year SABRE/FOS experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • 2 years Crew Tracking, Pilot, or Flight Attendant experience

  • ​Curriculum development experience

  • Classroom facilitation experience

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ​Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and holidays,

  • Ability to work overtime as required

  • Ability to construct effective written communications using proper grammar and spelling

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making decisions based on information gathered/reviewed

  • Ability to be flexible and capable of adapting to constant change

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines and work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to collaborate with trainers, managers, SMEs, and other support staff to identify training content and produce effective training courses

  • Ability to obtain proficiency in Articulate

  • Knowledge of crew member contract language and operational processes
