Registered Nurse Cardiology Device Clinician – Heart & Vascular Clinic Fast-paced, high-volume department is looking for top skilled RN Work location: 8230 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, TX 75231 Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday thru Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm Travel: 25% to travel to Rockwall location 1-2 times/week as needed. Here’s What You Need

  • Associate Degree Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing (required)

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire (required) and

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required) and

  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required)

  • 1 year Experience in Cardiology may be required

  • 1 year related Experience in a Clinic or Acute Hospital Nursing Setting (preferred)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

What You Will Do

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the RN Process

  • Performs general nursing triage to patients by following established standards and procedures . May perform specific nursing care as relates to specialty of the device clinic.

  • Obtains and documents health history, information on chief complaint, vital signs, and health risk factors including assessing disease conditions.

  • Provide patient care based on practice guidelines, standards of care, and federal/state laws and regulations.

  • Performs device interrogation of pacemakers and defibrillators which includes interpretation and reprogramming of cardiac devices using established protocols set by physicians.

  • As Registered Nurse programs pacemakers and AICD devices independently while having the cardiologist(s) review all programming changes.

  • Maintains and analyzes algorithms; EKG's and other device interrogation data and prepares preliminary reports for the cardiologist(s).

  • Troubleshoots cardiac devices and immediately takes steps to resolve problems, working with physicians as needed. Offers potential solutions as applicable to the patient and device programming.

  • Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Documents patient assessment and intervention data using established medical record forms, implantation data/automated systems and documentation practices.

  • Participates in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes and outcomes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
