What does a Project Manager do:

As a Project Manager in our PMO, you will drive project success across technology, operations, and business continuity to support our company's objectives. Your role involves planning, proactive risk management, and stakeholder engagement to deliver business solutions. You'll navigate through complexities, ensuring projects align with the charter and adapting to changes. Your accountability lies in disciplined execution, leading meetings, and transparent communication, while also monitoring the project's operational health. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a project from its beginning through to its completion. The goal of a project manager is to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and meets or exceeds stakeholders’ expectations.:

  • Define the project scope, objectives, and stakeholders.

  • Develop a detailed project plan, including schedule, resources, budget, change management and risk management plan.

  • Lead and direct the project team to carry out the work as outlined in the project plan.

  • Track the progress of the project, manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs, and ensuring that project objectives are met.

  • Finalize all project activities, complete any remaining deliverables, and obtain formal acceptance of the project from stakeholders, and close out the project.

  • Develop and manage the project schedule and budget, ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget, manage project resources, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies, ensure quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle, and engage in post-project evaluation to identify lessons learned and best practices for future projects. Quickly achieve a solid grasp of the project's technical facets.

  • Manage meeting logistics, produce agendas, and document minutes. Facilitate project meetings, ensuring effective teamwork and stakeholder communication. Lead the capture and tracking of both business and technical requirements.

  • Maintain meticulous project documentation using SmartSheet, JIRA, and MS Teams in line with PMO governance standards. Preparing weekly status reports and other reports upon request.

What are the qualifications to apply:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (3-5 years).

  • Ability to inspire and motivate a team, while managing and influencing them towards achieving project goals.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Skilled in negotiating with team members, stakeholders, and suppliers.

  • Proficient in organizing tasks, managing time, and keeping track of multiple elements of a project simultaneously.

  • Ability to quickly identify problems and implement effective solutions.

  • Demonstrate ability to “think around the corner” and identify the “what if’s”, “possible impact to other initiatives”, and “run-down” the answers to any identified business decisions, risks, or issues. Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure.

  • Capable of adjusting to changing conditions and managing unforeseen challenges.

  • Proficient in the use of and ability to rapidly pick up new technical skills. Demonstrate initiative in self-directed learning, particularly in workforce management and project/product management delivery tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, JIRA, MS TFS, Rally, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Attained or is in pursuit of relevant certifications within the Project Management or Agile Practices profession. Some preferred certifications would be: CaPM, PMP, ACBA, CSM, DASM, PSM, CSM, CDP, ITIL, CAL.

  • Demonstrate adoption of and on-going learning of tools, processes, and project management skills.
