We are in search of a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team in the healthcare industry. This role is based in Dallas, Texas and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. The primary function of this role is to ensure the efficient coordination and management of patient care in a fast-paced environment. Our client is looking for strong customer service, surgical history knowledge, and someone who is highly self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Obtain complete and accurate medical history from patients or family members, utilizing appropriate grammar, spelling, medical terminology, and diagnosis coding.

• Engage in consistent, professional customer service as a representative for the imaging center.

• Work independently and in collaboration with team members to ensure efficient patient care.

• Utilize telephone and computer extensively for communication and data entry.

• Call patients to obtain or update medical histories and confirm patient appointment times accurately.

• Screen patients for contraindications to MR or CT contrast and advise the respective departments of potential problems.

• Send necessary documents to the nurse two days prior to the exam.

• Schedule screening exams when necessary and enter all data into the Radiology Information System (RIS).

• Notify the insurance staff via email when new information is received.

• Send cancellation notices to doctor’s offices via fax and maintain files for future reference.

• Attend and participate in staff meetings, offering suggestions on ways to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Adhere to OSHA guidelines on Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Communications, Safety Data Sheets, and Emergency Preparedness.

• Assist Supervisor and Compliance Committee to ensure the Compliance Program is followed.

Requirements • Experience with Banner Ads, Blood Glucose, Cerner Technologies, Dentrix Dental Software, and EHR SYSTEM.

• Familiarity with Billing Functions, Clinical Trial Operations, Dialysis, and HealthCare.gov.

• Proficiency in dealing with Insurance matters and Radiology.

• Ability to accurately record and maintain Medical History.

• Experience in managing patient Confirmations.

• Previous work in Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry is preferred.

• Ability to coordinate patient care effectively and efficiently.

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.

• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with professional standards and regulations.

• Strong computer skills, particularly in data entry and patient management systems.
