Nexstar Media Group Multimedia Journalist in Dallas, Texas

KDAF CW33, Dallas/Ft. Worth seeks an experienced multimedia journalist to produce “Fresh, Unique, and New content for our locally produced lifestyle shows. You’ll help create new and different programming, have your work showcased in the fifth-largest media market, and have F.U.N. doing it!

You’ll tell local stories while staying within a brand focused on ALL things “FUN”. The right person will produce, report, shoot, edit, etc. (you know the drill) across all platforms in a unique and creative way.

Bringing ideas, connections, social media skills, and a “life of the party” personality to an already outgoing team of professionals, is a MUST.

You’ll win by having a “can do”, “will do”, and “already did it” attitude and a desire to create content that looks at the world a little differently... provided you have a reel to prove it.

Additional Job Description

· Work with Producers & Creative Director to generate story content with brand inclusiveness.

· Creatively write, shoot, and edit events and reports for multiple platforms.

· Produce digital stories for web and reel content for Instagram/FB social media sites.

· Arrange and conduct on-camera interviews (field or studio).

· Pitch stories to producers which are relevant to the local community.

· Research and analyze background information related to stories.

· Possess the ability to report live, should the need arise.

· Gather information about events through multiple outlets.

· Receive assignments and evaluate leads and tips to develop story ideas.

· Check reference materials for accuracy in stories.

· Revise work to meet editorial approval or fit time requirements.

· Ensure that all content meets company standards for production quality.

· Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

· Must have excellent “wordsmith” skills.

· Fluency in English required. Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.

· Superior, outgoing on-air presence & personality.

· Excellent communication skills with the ability to ad lib when required.

· Skilled in the use of technical broadcast equipment.

· Proven editing skills required.

· Ability to meet deadlines, project-manage, and muti-task.

· Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

· Flexibility to work changing shifts.

· Demo reel required / references if we ask.
