Description

We are in search of a Controller on a contract-to-hire basis to join our team in Dallas, Texas. The Controller will play a vital role in the financial operations of our company, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial management systems. The role includes handling the day-to-day operations of the accounting group, as well as managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project accounting. This position offers a contract-to-hire contract employment opportunity. 100% ONSITE in downtown Dallas. Must have Advertising Agency industry experience.

Contract-to-hire Controller:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the general accounting work, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, job costing and general ledger postings for projects.

  • Oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure fiscal responsibility.

  • Prepare and compile timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial results providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.

  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and prepare necessary filings.

  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support the agency’s financial stability.

  • Implement cash flow projections and manage working capital effectively.

  • Analyze project cost, profitability and ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with project budgets to maximize positive cash flow.

  • Manage the preparation of the annual tax return process, working with our third-party tax accountants.

  • Maintain and improve financial software systems and tools.

  • Streamline financials processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    Requirements

7 plus years of experience in progressively responsible accounting roles in the advertising, legal, or similar industry; preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.

Strong knowledge of project cost control, percentage of completion accounting and expense recognition.

Proficient with Advantage software or related software experience a plus

Solid leadership skills and the ability to interface with and collaborate with senior executive management.

Skilled problem solver with a knack for working with people to achieve success.

Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently in a fast changing and evolving service line.

Experience with Microsoft Office and highly organized with attention to detail.

Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity.
