Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Bilingual Attorney/Lawyer in Dallas, Texas. This role will primarily work with a community partner organization that assists homeless individuals and families, with the aim of transitioning them from homelessness to independence. The successful candidate will provide civil legal services to our clients, interpret laws, rulings, and regulations, and conduct civil lawsuits.

Responsibilities include:

• Offering legal advice to clients about their rights and interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for clients and the client community.

• Engaging in substantial litigation and other justice-related advocacy.

• Conducting interviews with clients and witnesses ensuring cultural competence.

• Drafting and preparing legal documents to be used in civil lawsuits.

• Designing and executing outreach and community legal education programs.

• Establishing meaningful relationships with community organizations and conducting intake at shelters.

• Coordinating activities of legal, clerical, volunteer, or student workers.

• Attending evening legal clinics periodically and participating in outreach initiatives.

• Providing legal assistance in areas of general civil law, including housing, foreclosure prevention, landlord-tenant, family, consumer, probate, special education, public benefits, and bankruptcy.

• Representing clients in court and before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government. Requirements • Proficiency in Spanish language, both written and spoken

• Experience in Spanish translation, especially in legal contexts

• Must be a licensed attorney in the practicing state or country

• Solid understanding of civil procedure and its application

• Prior experience in civil litigation is necessary

• Proven track record of handling civil litigation cases

• Familiarity with court proceedings and legal protocols
