Your Job:

The Assistant Vice President Operations professional responsible for r setting objectives, planning, staffing and directing activities of assigned departments/areas of responsibility; i.e. Environmental Services, Nutrition, and Food Services, Facilities Management, hospital-specific service line oversight (i.e. neurosciences, orthopedics, etc.) and Transport with matrix reporting relationship with Corporate Construction, Admitting Registration, Volunteer Services. Supports and promotes the vision, mission, and strategic plans of Methodist Health System.

Your Job Requirements:

• MHA/MBA/MS in hospital administration, healthcare administration or specialty field within areas of responsibility or equivalent education/experience preferred. • Minimum Work Experience: Previous administrative experience in hospital administration or related specialty field preferred. • Experience as a leader within a hospital, having previously served as an Assistant VP, Operations, and ancillary services' leader. • Proven ability to expand and redesign services using innovative approaches to maximize clinical quality and efficiency. • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to decision-making. • Experience working within a highly complex organization or health system essential. • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse work teams, developing an organizational strategy for program excellence and engaging partners. • Exhibits excellent leadership and self-direction, good judgment in handling difficulty situations and good organizational, time management, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. • Very strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products • Superior oral and written communication skills • Strong process orientation • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving • Ability to provide vision and leadership • Ability to plan and schedule the work of others • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment

• Communicate clearly and openly • Build relationships to promote a collaborative environment • Be accountable for your performance • Always look for ways to improve the patient experience • Take initiative for your professional growth • Be engaged and eager to build a winning team • Participates in developing hospital objectives, plans and policies as a member of the hospital's senior leadership team. • Ensures that divisions and departments are managed in a fiscally sound manner consistent with corporate financial goals. • Participates in the annual budgeting process and recommends cost projections. • Directs effective quality operations to maximize return on investment and community reputation. • Energizes the people and community to seek innovation, expansion of services, and program enhancement for community benefit and financial health. • Maintains professional relationships with appropriate officials, communicates honestly and completely, behaves in a fair and nondiscriminatory manner in all professional contacts. • Acts as a role model for service quality standards and behaviors. • Attain all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames as part of the overall mission. • Reviews performance in relation to established goals and implements changes to effect continual improvement in the services provided. • Develops and revises organizational structures to meet functional needs; ensures communication, reporting, and incentives align people and processes. • Assume responsibility of administrator on-call according to rotating schedule. • Ensures compliance with applicable accreditation and regulatory requirements. • Respect the confidentiality of hospital and patient information. • Developer’s goals, performance objectives, and metrics for the operational divisions and departments initiating specific programs in the various areas of each department. • Collaborate with other departments to create systems and program-solve ongoing issues that affect departmental/organizational goals and/or patient care deliver. • Demonstrate a commitment to a healthy work environment by modeling the desired behaviors and encouraging those in others. • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment. • Demonstrate the ability to communicate the hospital's mission, vision, and values, as well as departmental goals, to all staff. • Provide leadership and guidance to other leaders and staff in goal-setting, problem-solving, resource management, and outcome achievement. • Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Blood borne and Airborne Pathogens. • Responsible for the fiscal management of assigned departments and ensures proper utilization of organizational financial resources. • Provides consultation, counsel and guidance to key personnel; e.g. supervisors, coordinators, clinical and non-clinical Directors. • Responsible for assigned departments operational excellence, ensures departments deliver quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards. • Manages Human Resource to ensure quality services and promote positive employee relations. • Time and Priority Management • Timeliness and Attendance Standards.
